Weatherproof field notebook
A compact notebook with paper that repels water and stays intact when wet. Lets you record observations outdoors in any weather without losing notes to rain, sweat, or humidity.
What to look for
- 1Paper stays writable when wet (use pencil or all-weather pen when damp)
- 2Sewn or spiral binding that won't fall apart in a backpack
- 3Pocket-sized (roughly 3"×5" to 4"×6") to carry everywhere
- 464-160 pages gives months of field use before replacement
Skip
- Wire spirals that snag on pockets or gear
- Covers that add bulk without protection
Used for: logging bird sightings in morning dew · recording foraging finds during sudden rain · tracking urban observations across seasons · making field sketches in humid conditions
