Digital timer

A battery-powered countdown timer with a large display and audible alarm. Designed to sit on a table or mount magnetically so everyone in a room can see time remaining without checking phones.

What to look for

  1. 1Display readable from 15+ feet away—you want 1-inch or taller digits
  2. 2Both audible beep and silent/vibrate mode options for different group settings
  3. 3Counts down in minutes and seconds (some cheap ones only do minutes)
  4. 4Multiple mounting options: magnet back, fold-out stand, or hang-hole

Skip

  • Timers that reset to zero when you change the battery (you'll lose your preset intervals)
  • Models with complicated button sequences—if it takes more than 3 button presses to set, it's too fussy for workshop use

Used for: running teaching rotations at skill-share events · managing workshop station time limits · keeping group activities on schedule without phone-checking · timed challenges or game facilitation
