Acrylic sheet (8x10 inch, clear)
Rigid transparent plastic sheet used as a reusable inking surface for printmaking or as a contact frame for holding objects flat during sun printing. Clearer than glass, safer if dropped, easier to clean than disposable surfaces.
What to look for
- 1At least 1/8 inch (3mm) thick—thinner sheets warp
- 2Cast acrylic (not extruded) for better clarity
- 38x10 inch or larger to match common print sizes
- 4Scratch-resistant coating if available
Skip
- Thin sheets under 1/16 inch—bend too easily under pressure
- Textured or frosted surfaces for these applications
Used for: rolling out printing ink to consistent thickness · holding delicate objects in perfect contact during sun printing · creating reusable mixing palettes · pressing plants or lace flat without light leaks
