Acoustic foam panel kit

Foam wedges or pyramids that mount on walls and ceilings to absorb sound reflections. Reduces echo, reverb, and metallic ringing that makes rooms sound like bathrooms or gymnasiums.

What to look for

  1. 12-3 inch thickness minimum (thinner panels only treat high frequencies)
  2. 2Covers at least 25% of wall surface in your recording area
  3. 3Pyramid or wedge shape (flat panels are less effective)
  4. 4Includes corner bass traps or option to add them

Skip

  • Egg-crate mattress foam (not dense enough, fire hazard)
  • Panels marketed as 'soundproofing' (these treat reflections, not blocking)
  • Thin 1-inch panels sold as adequate for voice recording

Used for: Treating first reflection points for voice recording · Reducing room echo for podcasts · Controlling flutter echo in boxy rooms · Creating drier sound for music recording
