Fabric sample pack for dyeing

Small cuts (6–12 inches) of various natural fibers for testing how foraged dyes take to different materials. Silk, cotton, and linen each absorb plant pigments differently.

What to look for

  1. 1100% natural fibers only (cotton, linen, silk, wool)—synthetics won't take plant dyes
  2. 2Includes 4+ different fiber types so you can compare results
  3. 3Pre-washed or 'PFD' (prepared for dyeing) fabric with no finishes
  4. 4Total 1–2 yards across all samples (enough for 8–12 test prints)

Skip

  • Blended fabrics (even 5% polyester blocks dye absorption)
  • Pre-cut shapes or themed kits (you're paying for gimmick cuts you don't need)

Used for: Testing foraged dye colors on different fabrics · Learning which fibers work with specific plants · Creating botanical print samples · Practicing hammer dyeing techniques
