Blank microscope slides and covers

Glass slides and thin cover slips for mounting water samples. The cover slip flattens the drop so it stays in focus instead of bulging.

What to look for

  1. 1Pre-cleaned slides to avoid streaks and dust that look like organisms
  2. 2Ground/polished edges so they won't cut fingers during handling
  3. 3Standard 1" x 3" size that fits all microscope stages
  4. 4At least 50 slides and 100 covers in a kit (you'll use 2 covers per slide attempt)

Skip

  • Ultra-thin bargain slides that crack when you press the cover slip
  • Slides without any protective storage box

Used for: mounting pond water drops for viewing · preparing multiple samples from different water sources · creating flat specimens that stay in focus · practicing slide preparation techniques
