Alligator clip test leads
Spring-loaded clips on insulated wires that attach temporarily to circuit points, letting you test connections without soldering. Essential for circuit bending because you need both hands free to operate the device while experimenting with different connection points.
What to look for
- 1Wire length 30+ inches so you can position the camera comfortably while reaching internal circuit points
- 2Insulated clip bodies to prevent accidental shorts when multiple clips are near each other
- 3Clips that open at least 8-10mm to grip component leads and solder points on camera circuit boards
- 416-20 AWG wire thickness—thicker than this gets stiff and pulls clips loose
Skip
- Tiny clips designed for breadboards—they won't grip camera circuit components reliably
- Uninsulated clips that create accidental connections when they touch
Used for: connecting circuit points while camera shutter is pressed · testing which connections create desired glitch effects · holding temporary connections during photo sessions
